BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 20. The number of domestic flights (passenger planes only) via Iranian airports decreased by 6.5 percent in the first half of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.
Data from Iran Airports and Air Navigation Company (IAC) shows that more than 131,000 domestic flights were carried out from Iranian airports during the past six months.
In the corresponding period of the previous Iranian year, the flights exceeded 140,000.

There are 54 civilly active airports in Iran. Some 14 of them are international airports. On average, 30 million passengers are transported through Iranian airports per year.
