BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 16. The number of domestic flights (passenger planes only) via Iranian airports fell by 6.9 percent in the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.
According to data from Iran Airports and Air Navigation Company (IAC), more than 152,000 domestic flights were carried out from Iranian airports during the past seven months.
In the corresponding period of the previous Iranian year, the number of domestic flights surpassed 163,000.

There are 54 civilly active airports in Iran. Some 14 of them are international airports. On average, 30 million passengers are transported through Iranian airports per year.
