ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, February 25. Turkmenistan and the France Arterail company have intensified negotiations on cooperation in the field of railways, Trend reports.
According to the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, negotiations were held under the leadership of Jérôme Garcia, founder and head of Arterail, between experts of this company and specialists of the Turkmenistan Railways.
During the meeting, the Turkmen railway workers acquainted the French experts with the issues of cooperation in the implementation of projects of the country's railway infrastructure, modernization, and electrification of the railway complex.
In turn, the French experts expressed interest in establishing a mutually beneficial partnership with the Railway Transport Administration of Turkmenistan and intend to participate in existing projects and contribute to the development of the country's economy.
At the same time, the Turkmen side invited the delegation of Arterail to come to the country to familiarize French colleagues with Turkmenistan, and the activities carried out in the field of railway transport, as well as to discuss issues of cooperation development.
Furthermore, the Turkmen railway workers were invited to prepare a draft document for discussing a Memorandum of Understanding on establishing Turkmen-French cooperation in the field of railway transport and send it through diplomatic channels for approval per the established procedure.
Meanwhile, Turkmenistan is actively developing the railway infrastructure, investing significant efforts in the modernization and expansion of the railway network.
The priority is to improve transport accessibility both domestically and internationally, which helps to increase economic potential and stimulate trade.
