Turkmenistan's shipyard to purchase spares from Chinese Weichai Holding

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, February 29. Representatives of Turkmenistan's Balkan shipyard and ship repair plant held an online meeting with the commercial management of 'Weichai Holding Co. Ltd.' in Kazakhstan to discuss the details of equipment and spare parts purchases, Trend reports.

According to the Maritime and River Transport Agency of Turkmenistan (Turkmendenizderyayollary), during the meeting, the parties discussed specific issues related to the purchase of necessary equipment and spare parts for the 'Saparmyrat Niyazov' bulk carrier, owned by the 'Marine Merchant Fleet' CJSC of Turkmenistan.

As part of the negotiations, technical specifications and drawings of the main engine and diesel generators required for this cargo ship were provided.

Representatives of the shipyard also stressed that the purchased equipment must be certified in accordance with the requirements of international classification societies.

At the end of the meeting, it was noted that the company would consider the proposals of the Balkan shipyard and ship repair plant and also expressed confidence in the development of bilateral cooperation.

Meanwhile, Weichai Holding Co. Ltd., founded in 1946 in China, is a state-owned holding group.

It specializes in the design and manufacture of components and spare parts for various types of machinery, including automobiles, construction and agricultural machinery, marine vessels, buses, trucks, and cars, loaders, storage systems, luxury yachts, energy equipment, hydraulic pumps, and fuel cells.
