ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, April 1. The South Korean Koryo Shipbuilding Industry Technology Co., Ltd. (KSIT), within the framework of cooperation, transferred the design documentation to Turkmenistan's Balkan shipyard and ship repair plant to increase the number of ships produced annually, Trend reports.
According to the Balkan shipyard, the transfer of project
paperwork by the South Korean side represents a new stage in
Turkmen shipbuilding development.
The transferred design documentation greatly expands the plant's
capabilities, allowing it to build up to five ships per year
instead of four previously, and establishes new Turkmen
shipbuilding standards.
To attain these goals, the shipyard is now working on re-equipment,
purchasing new equipment, optimizing manufacturing processes, and
accelerating standards.
Thanks to Korean technologies and the work of Turkmen specialists, the Balkan shipyard will reach a new level by increasing its production capacity, improving the quality of ships, and expanding the product range.
Furthermore, this will not only allow the shipyard to meet the growing demand for ships but also open up new export opportunities.
Meanwhile, Koryo Shipbuilding Industry Technology. Co., Ltd. (KSIT) specializes in the design, construction, and repair of ships of various types and sizes.
The company is located in Busan, Republic of Korea, and has two shipyards: Busan Shipyard and Changwon Shipyard.
