BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 3. Russian Valcom has reached an agreement with Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO) on the modernization of sensors and measuring devices for different purposes on half of the ASCO vessels, Valcom's Deputy General Director Aleksey Filippov exclusively told Trend.
"For nearly three decades, our organization has collaborated with ASCO. The shipping company's fleet consists of tankers and dry cargo ships, many of which are more than 20 years old and require equipment repair. We negotiated an agreement with ASCO on a modernization initiative covering three to four years, totaling approximately 100 million rubles (over one million euros)," Filippov said.
To note, ASCO's fleet consists of 54 vessels.
Filippov stated that Valcom is interested in obtaining orders
from the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR),
leveraging its expertise in designing and producing specialized
sensors. The company has past experience in this industry, having
created similar equipment for Russian Gazprom, namely monitoring
instruments for gas and water pressure.
This company's orders include equipment for oil and gas terminals
and drilling platforms.
Valcom is the exclusive Russian developer and manufacturer of
high-precision, intelligent integrated automation systems designed
specifically for specialized vessels. Oil and gas firms also seek
its services.
