ASTANA, Kazakhstan, June 12. The Kazakh 'Astyk Trans' company, specializing in the rail transportation of grain and other agricultural goods, has launched new routes for intermodal grain transportation by container trains, Trend reports.
According to 'Astyk Trans', the company launched grain transportation by container trains from Kazakhstan to China, as well as to the port of Aktau for subsequent shipment to the EU, Central Asian countries, and Iran.
Thanks to these shipments, it became possible to form direct container routes from the northern regions.
Furthermore, the cargo carrier has also launched grain delivery by grain carriers to the transshipment station in containers, which will allow loading grain from any region of Kazakhstan without reference to the equipment of elevators.
Meanwhile, the combined railway fleet managed by Astyk Trans comprises approximately 6,300 railcars, facilitating the transportation of 5.5 million tons of grain annually.
The company has the ability to step up its game by bringing in more wagons to keep up with the increasing demand from the agricultural sector of Kazakhstan for transporting grain by rail.
