The first space launches from Baikonur in 2009 are planned for February, the Kazakhstan Today reports citing the press-service of the Federal Space Center Baikonur.
According to the press service, the launch plan for 2009 has been completely approved. The cargo ship Progress М-66 with the rocket Soyuz-U will be launched with the cargo for the crew of the International Space Station in the first half of February, 2009 from the cosmodrome Baikonur.
Two Russian satellites Express AM-44 and Экспресс-MD1 will be launched to the near-earth orbit.
"Proton-M rocket launch with the booster block Breeze-M and the communication satellites Express AM-44 and Express-MD1 are planned for February 2009 as well," the press-service of the Federal Space Center Baikonur informed.
