A special operation to catch criminals, suspected of the attack on a police patrol, is carried out in Almaty, a source in the Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan told Trend.
"Yes, it was a special operation, and it is completed. Official information on the criminals and the details will be announced soon," the source said.
Previously, the agency Interfax - Kazakhstan reported that there was a skirmish on the outskirts of Almaty.
"The special operation is completed. There are no shots and explosions. The police said all the suspects were shot by sniper. They can't specify the exact number, but said that from four to six people were killed," the agency reported, quoting an eyewitness.
There was an attack on a police patrol in Turksib district of Almaty last Sturday. A police officer was killed and another was wounded in the head and is in a coma. According to preliminary information, the criminals possessed the police service weapon.
