Kazakh Foreign Minister Yerlan Idrisov and his Kyrgyz counterpart Yerlan Abdyldayev have discussed cooperation issues, the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported on Thursday.
The meeting was held in Cairo (Egypt) within the Summit of the Organization of the Islamic Conference.
The parties have discussed organizing Kyrgyz Foreign Minister's official visit to Kazakhstan, Council of the Heads of the Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Kyrgyz city of Bishkek, construction of two schools in the south of Kyrgyzstan financed by Kazakhstan, possibility of reopening the control checkpoint Kichi -Kapka and Karkyra and confidence-building measures on water and energy issues.
Idrisov and Abdyldayev have also exchanged views on regional cooperation issues.
Within the meeting, Kazakh Foreign Minister invited his Kyrgyz counterpart to take part in the ministerial conference on Afghanistan within Istanbul process, to be held in Almaty in April.
