Kazakh and Russian Presidents discuss Eurasian integration

Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Kazakh counterpart Nursultan Nazarbayev discussed Eurasian integration during a phone talk on Monday, Kremlin Press Service reported.

"The two presidents discussed current bilateral relations and exchanged views on a broad range of issues concerning Eurasian integration," the Press Service said.

Putin interrupted a meeting on economic issues to speak to Kazakh President.

The Customs Union of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus has been operating since 2010. It aims at forming a single customs zone where no duties or economic restrictions are applied, except special protective, antidumping and compensatory measures. The Common Economic Space within the Customs Union started to operate on Jan.1, 2012.
