Astana, Kazakhstan, Nov. 7

By Daniyar Mukhtarov - Trend: EXPO- 2017 facilities will be exempt from tax in Kazakhstan, Kazakh Minister of Economy and Budget Planning Yerbolat Dosayev said today.

"The Tax Code is amended regarding the exemption of national companies from corporate income, land and property tax," Dosayev said. "These changes are necessary to fulfil commitments within the contest among the candidate countries for holding EXPO- 2017. Moreover, a technical dossier envisages that the construction of EXPO- 2017 facilities will be exempt from corporate income tax and tax on property and land."

According to Dosayev, the proposed amendments also envisage exempting the organisations involved in the design and construction of the exhibition facilities from corporate income tax.

"The list of such companies will be determined by the government," Dosayev said. "The analysis of foreign experience shows that all countries are taking action on additional tax incentives for organisations involved in these activities."
