Kazakhstan, Brazil discuss joint economic issues

By Daniyar Mukhtarov - Trend: Kazakh ambassador to the Federal Republic of Brazil, as well as the Argentine Republic and the Republic of Chile on a part-time basis, Bakytzhan Ordabaev visited Rio Grande do Sul at the invitation of Governor Tarso Genro.
The sides exchanged views on the state and prospects of bilateral economic cooperation, the establishment of contacts between entrepreneurs and the industrial regions of Kazakhstan. The issues related to the possibility of mutual participation of entrepreneurs of the Brazilian state and Kazakh regions in investment projects implemented in Brazil and Kazakhstan.
The governor of the state and head of FIERGS Regional Chamber of Commerce expressed great interest in establishing business cooperation among businesses in Rio Grande do Sul and such major industrial centres of Kazakhstan, as Almaty, Karaganda and South Kazakhstan.
The governor proposed to consider the possibility of establishing a sister city relationship between Porto Alegre, Astana and Almaty which are major cultural and industrial metropolises of Kazakhstan to expand bilateral cooperation.
