Bolat Bersebayev has been appointed director general of the Kazakh state media holding upon a decision of the only participant Nur -Media, the ruling party Nur Otan, the party's official webpage said today.

Former head of the holding Yerlan Baizhanov left the post in connection with his transfer to another job.

Nur Media holding unites several state-run media outlets.

Bersebayev graduated from the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. He gained a Master of Political Science through the Bolashak presidential scholarship (Schiller University, Germany).

He worked at the Secretariat of the Kazakh Security Council, was deputy press secretary to the Kazakh president, managing director of National Information Holding 'Arna Media', chairman of the Committee of Information and Archives of the Ministry of Communication and Information and state inspector of the presidential administration in different years.

Before his appointment, Bersebayev was acting secretary on ideology of the Nur Otan Party and chairman of the NUR -Media supervisory board.
