The sanctions of the United States, the European Union and Canada imposed against Russia can bring benefit for Kazakhstan`s business.

Board Chairman of Kazakh National Chamber of Entrepreneurs Ablay Myrzakhmetov made the remarks at a briefing held at the Central Communications Service under the President of Kazakhstan.

He said that Russia imposes retaliatory sanctions banning the import from certain European countries.

"It is clear that Russia will try to develop its own production market, but we also have an opportunity to ramp up production at the positions against which sanctions are imposed. And it is quite possible to do, especially in the agricultural and processing sectors," Myrzakhmetov said.

A meeting on the above said issue will be held under the chairmanship of Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister Bakhytzhan Sagintayev next week, the board chairman said.

"We want to bring together all of the key producers of milk, meat, oilseeds and discuss what is needed to be done in order to be able to replace those products which Russia does not allow to import from other suppliers," Myrzahmetov said

However, he said that everyone loses from sanctions eventually.

Those countries that impose sanctions will also face with lossess, as Russia is a country with a large economy, and there are plenty of trade relations, especially for the European Union, according to Myrzahmetov.

He also reminded Kazakhstan's position on this issue, which Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev highlighted earlier.

"We stand for a peaceful resolution, we are in favor of constructive dialogue" the Kazakh head of state said.
