Astana hosts talks on interparliamentary ties between Kazakhstan, China

Kazakh parliament lower chamber's chairman, Kabibulla Dzhakupov met a delegation of China's National People's Congress (NPC) led by the NPC Standing Committee Deputy Chairman Zhang Baowen, the chamber's press service said Sept. 22.
After reviewing the general cooperation between Kazakhstan and China, both parties said the two countries have an exemplary strategic cooperation model, which takes its impetus from the friendly relations between the heads of Kazakhstan and China.
Dzhakupov highlighted China's success in political, social and economic reforms, saying that China is one of the most important centers of regional and international politics.
Zhang Baowen, for his part, praised Kazakhstan's achievements, paying special attention to strengthening of interparliamentary relations.
During the meeting Dzhakupov and Baowen also discussed the issue of boosting bilateral trade turnover, expanding cooperation in the sectors of nuclear energy and agriculture, as well as the transport and transit potential.
The parties also mulled the construction of the Western Europe-Western China International Transit Corridor, the 'Silk Road Economic Belt' concept, the development of tourism, as well as the upcoming Chinese culture days in Kazakhstan.
