The U.S. supports Kazakhstan's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO), the U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said after meeting with Kazakh Foreign Minister Erlan Idrisov in New York, RIA Novosti reported.
"Secretary of State Kerry expressed strong support for Kazakhstan's joining to the WTO," a State Department official told reporters.
The US also supports the "sovereignty, territorial integrity and the growing leadership of Kazakhstan on the world stage," Kerry said.
Within the meeting on Sept.22, Kerry and Idrisov discussed the strategic partnership and cooperation in addressing regional and global issues, State Department's representative said.
The meeting was held in New York on the sidelines of UN General Assembly.
