Kazakhstan’s foreign debt increases

Kazakhstan’s foreign debt increased from $153.46 billion in early 2016 to $153.99 billion in the first quarter of 2016, read a message posted on the website of the National Bank.

The National Bank’s debt stood at $892 million as of the end of the first quarter of 2016, as compared to $900 million in the beginning of the first quarter.

The debt of Kazakh banks decreased from $7.97 billion in early 2016 to $7.73 billion in the end of the first quarter.

This is while the intercompany debt increased from $81.84 billion to $82.84 billion.

The debt of public administration bodies increased to $11.31 billion in January-March 2016.

Kazakhstan’s foreign debt decreased by 2.5 percent in 2015.
