Kazakh president’s daughter appointed to new position

Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev’s daughter Dariga Nazarbayeva was appointed the head of Senate Committee for Foreign Affairs, Defense and Security, RIA Novosti reported Sept. 16.
Senate is the upper chamber of Kazakhstan’s Parliament.
Dariga Nazarbayeva earlier served as vice prime minister in the former government.
A new government was formed in Kazakhstan this week after resignation of the country’s prime minister.
