Kazakhstan ups meat and milk production

Kazakhstan has recorded a 3.3-percent increase in the livestock production, said Kayrat Aytuganov, the Kazakh Deputy Agriculture Minister.

Aytuganov announced about this at a government meeting speaking about the results achieved in the sphere of animal husbandry.

Thanks to the works done in the animal husbandry, beef production increased in Kazakhstan by 4.7%, milk - 2.9%, poultry -17.4% and eggs - 4.8%.

He further informed about the work on involving peasant farms in cooperatives.

"To date, 759 farms have been registered, including 270 farms for the milk provision and 371 farms for production and provision of meat," he said adding that cooperatives produced more than 44,000 tons of milk and 13,000 tons of meat.

The official noted that this allows to increase the average load of milk processing enterprises from 60 to 65% and meat processing enterprises - from 55 to 60%.
