About 116.8 billion tenge of credit resources have been allocated for spring fieldwork in Kazakhstan, Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Saparkhan Omarov said, Trend reports referring to Kazakh media.

“Agrarian Credit Corporation JSC allocated a budget loan from the republican budget worth 70 billion tenge to carry out spring field and harvesting works, including for measures to support the subjects of the agro-industrial complex,” Omarov said during the Government meeting.

According to Omarov, to date, 48.6 billion tenge were allocated for 1,326 agricultural producers under the ‘Ken dala’ program.

“The Kazakh Fund for Financial Support of Agriculture JSC also finances the spring fieldwork, the volume of loans for which does not exceed 6 million tenge. To date, more than 370 million tenge has been issued to more than 60 small agricultural enterprises,” said the agriculture minister.

“The Food Contract Corporation JSC also carries out a forward purchase of agricultural products. If for these purposes 24.5 billion tenge were allocated in 2020, then in 2021 - 45.3 billion tenge. That is, the planned purchase amount has almost doubled compared to last year. To date, 74 agricultural enterprises have been financed in the amount of 14.3 billion tenge,” Omarov added.

The minister noted that this year the list of products purchased within the framework of the forward procurement has been expanded from 4 to 9 crops.

“So, along with wheat and barley, volumes of buckwheat, sunflower and other oilseeds will be contracted for the production of socially significant food products and strengthening the fodder base. In this regard, we ask akimats of the regions to take into account the preliminary distribution of the purchase of volumes of socially significant crops in the context of regions when considering applications by coordinating councils,” added Omarov.

This year, it is planned to place agricultural crops on an area of 22.8 million hectares, which is 186,600 hectares, or 0.8 percent, more than in 2020.
