Kazakhstan, Mongolia agree to continue co-op in agro-industrial complex

Kazakhstan and Mongolia agreed to continue fruitful and mutually beneficial cooperation on the entire range of issues in the agro-industrial complex, Trend reports referring to Kazakhstan’s agriculture ministry.

The mentioned issue was discussed by the Minister of Agriculture Yerbol Karashukeyev and the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Environment, Food and Agriculture, deputy of the State Great Assembly of Mongolia, Khayangaa Bolorchuluun.

In his welcoming speech, Karashukeyev noted that Kazakhstan and Mongolia have great potential for establishing mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of agriculture.

"Creation of joint ventures, the establishment of mutual supplies of agricultural products could become spheres of long-term trade and economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Mongolia," the minister said.

According to the results of seven months of this year, the commodity turnover of agricultural products between the countries amounted to $7.2 million.

"Along with this, I think that the potential for the development of trade between our countries has great prospects for further building up," Karashukeyev said.

In addition, the parties considered issues of cooperation between the countries in the field of veterinary medicine, discussed the export of meat and livestock to Kazakhstan, cooperation between research institutes of plant growing.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue fruitful and mutually beneficial cooperation on the entire range of issues in the agro-industrial complex, and also agreed to create in the near future a working group in the field of agriculture at the level of deputy ministers.
