Trend:

Kazakhstan is implementing measures aimed at increasing the volume of agricultural production, Trend reports citing the press service of the government.

The priority of ensuring food security is to ensure the physical availability of food products, their sufficient availability on the shelves of shops and markets.

The measures envisaged by the plan are aimed at increasing the volume of agricultural production, which will be implemented through the diversification of cultivated areas, the integrated development of animal farming, the implementation of new investment projects and the development of storage and logistics infrastructure.

According to the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Alikhan Smailov, measures for the market saturation with products should be carried out taking into account the balance of production and consumption of food.

It is necessary to assess the effectiveness of existing price regulation mechanisms and develop proposals for the transition from administrative price regulation to targeted support for socially vulnerable segments of the population, Smailov noted.

Administrative instruments for price containment are a non-market method and other methods of stimulating price stability should be used, he added.

It is necessary to provide for measures to establish long-term sustainable economic ties between the subjects of the agro-industrial complex and trade, developing a system of forwarding deliveries within the framework of the plan, Prime Minister Smailov said.

The quality of food products is an important link in the food security chain. It is necessary to improve veterinary and phytosanitary control, certification of food products.
