BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 18. The total sown area will be 23.1 million hectares in Kazakhstan in 2022, which is 125,000 hectares more than in 2021, Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerbol Karashukeyev said, Trend reports via the Kazakh government.

“The issue of preparation for spring fieldwork is proceeding as planned and is under special control of the Ministry,” said Karashukeyev.

On the instructions of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, work is underway to improve the mechanism for subsidizing the agro-industrial complex. Several options for reforming the existing system of subsidies have been prepared, which have been repeatedly discussed at meetings of the Working Group.

Due to recent events related to volatility in the global food markets and in order to maintain the stability of the local market, it was decided to postpone the implementation of the new subsidy mechanism to January 1, 2023.

State support for the agro-industrial complex will be carried out according to the current subsidy rules in the current year.

On the instructions of the Kazakh President, taking into account the need to maintain the stability of the local agro-industrial complex, the issue of allocating additional funds to subsidize the agro-industrial complex while clarifying the republican budget, which will be used to pay off the resulting debt of last year and also neutralize the consequences increase in prices for commodity and material resources used in the production of agricultural products, the minister noted.

Local executive authorities need to intensify work on the approval of subsidy standards and ensure the full utilization of allocated funds for subsidies.
