BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 10. Major air carriers of Kazakhstan such as Air Astana, SCAT and Qazaq Air intend to increase the number of flights to Uzbekistan, China and Pakistan,Trend reports via Uzbek media outlets.
According to the press service of the Civil Aviation Committee of Kazakhstan, there is a demand in these areas, which has not yet been met.
For example, before the pandemic, more than forty flights a day were operated to China, and today, due to the ongoing quarantine, the number of flights has decreased to three per week. The limited offer was reflected in the cost of air tickets.
"We have already written a number of letters to the aviation authorities of China with a proposal to increase the number of flights.Suggestions have also been sent to our Uzbek colleagues to open new routes and flights, we are now waiting for a response. In the near future we will again contact the aviation authorities of China, Uzbekistan and Pakistan to promptly study the existing issues," deputy chairman of the committee said.
