BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 23. Kazakhstan and China intend to increase the volume of bilateral trade, including e-commerce, Trend reports via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.

Ambassador of Kazakhstan to China Shakhrat Nuryshev held a meeting with Vice Minister of Commerce, International Trade Representative of China (minister’s level) Wang Shouwen.

The parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of Kazakh-Chinese trade, economic, investment and inter-regional cooperation, and noted the importance of developing new approaches to interaction in these areas.

Particular attention was paid to the issue of improving the legal framework in order to create favorable conditions and give additional impetus to bilateral cooperation.

Nuryshev drew Shouwen’s attention to the need to take permanent incentive measures to increase the volume of bilateral trade, including e-commerce. In this context, the Kazakh diplomat proposed to speed up the agreement of the trade and economic cooperation program until 2026 between the parties and activate working mechanisms in the field of trade, investment and inter-regional cooperation.

The ambassador announced the readiness of the Kazakh side to expand the range of domestic livestock and agricultural products for supplies to China.

He also emphasized the importance of bilateral trade the effective functioning of checkpoints on the Kazakh-Chinese border and the resumption of the activities of the Khorgos International Center for Border Cooperation.
