BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 3. A total of 73.7 million tons of coal were mined in Kazakhstan from January through August 2022, which is 6.2 percent more than in the same period the previous year, Minister of Industry and Infrastructural Development of Kazakhstan Kairben Uskenbayev said during a governmental meeting, Trend reports.

According to the data of coal mining enterprises, the cost of coal at key sections has been maintained at last year's level.

At the same time, in order to prevent the growth of prices for coal in the places of sale, measures were taken to ensure its uninterrupted transportation and limit its export outside the country by road (for six months).

Furthermore, for the convenience of citizens, options for the sale of solid fuel through popular marketplaces and banking applications are being developed. In this direction, one of the largest banks in the country has already launched a pilot project in the Kostanay region.
