BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 4. Local executive authorities in Kazakhstan's regions sign memorandum with large retail chains to reduce the trade markup to 10 percent, Trend reports via press service of the Trade Committee of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan.

A total of 40 memorandums were signed in Shymkent, Almaty, Kostanay, Akhtuba, Atyrau, Abakay, Abai, Turkestan regions, East Kazakhstan, and West Kazakhstan, with large retail chains such as Magnum, Small, Anvar, Astykzhan, etc. This measure will allow large retail chains in Kazakhstan to reduce prices for socially important food products.

"Trade Committee completed a register of retail chains in the country and there are 109 of them and 1,458 branches, Kazakh akimats (mayors) are carrying out work to sign memorandums. As of today, 40 memorandums have already been signed, the rest are at the approval stage,” Chairman of the MIT Trade Committee Yerzhan Kazanbayev informed.
