Kazakhstan talks new projects in its special economic zones

BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 1. A total of 28 projects are being implemented on the territory of "Seaport Aktau" special economic zone in Kazakhstan, the Chairman of the Industrial Development Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development Ilyas Ospanov said, Trend reports via the ministry.

Ospanov made the remark during the joint trip with Kazakh MPs to the "Seaport Aktau" and "National Industrial Petrochemical Technopark" special economic zones.

According to him, within the above projects worth 757.7 billion tenge ($1.61 billion) 4,829 jobs were opened.

Besides, 18 projects worth 120.2 billion tenge ($260 million) were implemented on the territory of "Seaport Aktau" with the opening of 1,009 jobs, the official noted.

"National Industrial Petrochemical Technopark" is engaged in the elaboration and implementation of investment projects for the establishment and development of world-class petrochemical industries aimed at deep processing of hydrocarbon raw materials and the manufacturing of wide competitive petrochemical products with high added value.

"To date, four projects have been implemented, and 13 more are under implementation. Construction of an integrated gas chemical complex, plants for the manufacturing of plastic packaging products, polymer products and others is underway," added Ospanov.
