BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 6. Businesspeople in Kazakhstan’s Karaganda region may apply to receive 50 million Kazakh tenge ($105,750) in preferential loans, Trend reports.

According to the statement, an entrepreneur may take a loan that does not exceed 50 million Kazakh tenge ($105,750) with an interest rate of 5 percent.

Representatives of SMEs from single-industry towns and the regional center will be able to take preferential loans for the development of their businesses. Several areas, including manufacturing, transportation, logistics, communications, and other industries will be prioritized in the framework of the project.

The application process will open in the second half of December. Around 500 million Kazakh tenge ($1 million) have been allocated in the framework of the project, half of the funds were provided by the Karaganda region akimate, and the remaining half by the “Damu” foundation.

In 2023, it is planned to bring the loan portfolio to a 1 billion tenge ($2.1 million).
