BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 27. Kazakhstan aims to attract investments worth around 403 billion Kazakh tenge ($873.2 million) for the purpose of reconstructing the sewage system in Kazakhstan, Kairbek Uskenbayev, Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of Kazakhstan, said, Trend reports, citing the press service of the Ministry.
Uskenbayev said that currently construction and modernization of the sewage system must be carried out in 68 cities.
The country officials have already initiated modernization in Atyrau, Saryagash, and Fort-Shevchenko. An additional three projects in three other locations will be launched in 2023.
Overall, the government will allocate resources from the budget to reconstruct the systems in small towns and settlements with a population below 45,000 inhabitants. Funds will be acquired via long-term loans from international organizations for cities with a population above this threshold.
