BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 20. Türkiye’s “GAP Inşaat” is interested in expanding its operations in Kazakhstan by participating in a tender for the construction of a combined heat and power (TPP) plant in Kokshetau, Aziz Çengel, the acting director general of GAP Inşaat, said, Trend reports, citing the press service of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan.

The statement was made in the framework of the meeting with the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Alikhan Smailov.

Smailov appreciated the interest of GAP Inşaat and noted that the company’s participation in the tender would be welcomed.

According to the feasibility study, the electric capacity of the new TPP in Kokshetau will be 240 MW, thermal capacity of 520 Gcal/hr. The project will be financed by the investor, which wins the tender.

Gap İnşaat is one of the major construction companies operating in Türkiye and several other countries, including Kazakhstan. The company was established in 1996 with headquarters in Istanbul. Currently, the Istanbul-based company is participating in projects implemented in Türkiye, Turkmenistan, Iraq, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia among others.
