BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 10. Secondary market apartment prices have increased by 18.7 percent in Kazakhstan in January 2023, compared to January 2022, Trend reports, citing the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of Kazakhstan.

The Bureau notes that the sales of new apartments increased by 14 percent during the same period. Housing rent increased by 34.3 percent in January 2023 compared to the same month last year.

The prices for the sale of new housing increased by 0.7 percent, while the increase of 0.3 percent was registered for the resale of apartments in January 2023, compared to December 2022.

However, renting apartments became 2.5 percent cheaper in January 2023 compared to the previous month.

In the regional context, prices in the primary housing market in annual terms rose by 28.2 percent in Aktau. The price growth registered in Aktobe amounted to 25.4 percent, while the cost of an apartment in Petropavlovsk increased by 20.9 percent.

The leaders in price growth in the secondary market were the cities of Semey, which recorded a 46.8 percent growth, Kyzylorda with a 38.8 percent growth, and Aktobe where prices increased by 37.3 percent.

The Bureau of National Statistics releases monthly information dedicated to the situation in the housing market. The Bureau utilizes various methodological approaches for calculating the price fluctuations in the country. Information on sales of new homes is collected from construction companies carrying out sales operations. To calculate the price change of rent and resale of apartments, data from advertisements placed on Internet resources and in the media are taken into account.
