BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 19. Kazakhstan plans to attract more foreigners in the country through the implementation of a new strategy, Askhat Oralov, Minister of Culture and Sports of Kazakhstan said on the sidelines of the a meeting on the socio-economic development of the country chaired by the Head of State, Trend reports, citing Kazakh media.

According to the minister, the current tourist flow in Kazakhstan will increase by around 4 million people in the next 7 years, if the new strategy for the development of this sector is carried out.

"A seven-year strategy has been approved already. In order to achieve the expected number, it is important to carry out all the necessary infrastructure projects, create the necessary conditions, and work more closely with the National Chamber and the country’s tourism agencies", he said.

Oralov emphasized that President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev pays special attention to promoting the rich cultural and tourist potential of Kazakhstan abroad.

Meanwhile, according to the latest statistics available, some 610,000 foreign citizens visited Kazakhstan for tourism purposes over the first 9 months of 2022. The number has almost doubled, compared to 330,000 visitors registered in the country over the same period of 2021.
