BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 4. Despite a slight slowdown, business activity in Kazakhstan remained positive with an index of 51.2 for April 2023 (in March - 51.6), Trend reports via the National Bank of Kazakhstan.
The dynamics of the indicator was influenced by the change in the index of the production sector, where due to a decrease in the volume of inventories, the index moved negative, amounting to 49.6 in April, compared to 52.9 in March.
As far as construction sector goes, the index fell to 50.4 compared to 53.3 in March. In the service sector, a slight improvement was recorded - 52.0 in April, compared to 51.7 in March.
In the mining industry, the indicator improved to 49.8 (from 48.6 in March), still remaining negative. The reason behind this negative trend is long delivery times.
The business activity index is an indicator that characterizes the state of the economy in the real sector, and allows to study the dynamics of economic trends, critical and turning points of the business cycle.
