BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 23. Three major projects for the construction of mining and metallurgical plants are being implemented in the North Kazakhstan region, akim (governor) of the region Aydarbek Saparov said, Trend reports.

According to him, the region has the potential for the development of mining industries as there are reserves of tin, zirconium, titanium, tungsten, and uranium.

"Three major projects for the construction of mining and metallurgical plants are being implemented: at the country's largest tin deposit, Syrymbet, and at the tungsten deposits, Aksoran and Bayan. On the Syrymbet deposit, we have conducted reconnaissance, and we are bringing the infrastructure. On the government's part, we are creating conditions," he said.

Furthermore, he noted that the financing of these projects is expected through the Development Bank of Kazakhstan. After that, the construction of shift settlements, production facilities, and mining and metallurgical plants will begin.

He added that exploration needs to be conducted first at the tungsten deposits of Aksoran and Bayan, followed by mining operations. The project documentation is ready.

The development of Syrymbet, which holds 65 percent of the country's confirmed tin reserves, was announced by the former head of the region, Kumar Aksakalov, in 2019. The deposit has been under exploration for 18 years.
