ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 13. Kazakhstan's trade with the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) reached over $11.4 billion from January through May 2023, Trend reports.

According to the country's Bureau of National Statistics, this figure is 10.5 percent more compared to the same period of the previous year.

The export of goods in the reporting period amounted to $4.4 billion, reflecting a significant growth of 45.3 percent, while imports stood at $6.9 billion, showing a slight decrease of 4.2 percent.

Among the EAEU countries, Russia accounts for the largest share in Kazakhstan's external trade, with 91.9 percent, followed by Kyrgyzstan with 4.7 percent, Belarus with 3.2 percent, and Armenia with 0.2 percent.

Machinery, equipment, vehicles, instruments, and apparatus constitute the highest share in exports to EAEU countries at 28.9 percent, followed by chemical and related industries' products at 25.4 percent.

In terms of imports from EAEU countries, products of animal and plant origin, as well as processed food items, dominate with a share of 20.2 percent, followed by metals and metal products at 18.8 percent, and machinery, equipment, vehicles, instruments, and apparatus at 17.5 percent.
