BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 8. The decision on the zero rate of customs duty for the declaration of express cargo and goods in Kazakhstan has entered into force, Trend reports.

The Government of Kazakhstan has approved a corresponding resolution that sets the rates of customs fees charged by state revenue agencies.

The resolution will come into effect 10 calendar days after the day of its official publication, which means from August 15, 2023 (published on August 4, 2023 in the reference control bank of regulatory legal acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan in electronic form).

In addition, this resolution fits into the framework of the Customs Code of the Eurasian Economic Union, which provides that the types and rates of customs duties are determined by the national legislation of the EAEU members.

Moreover, the purpose of the resolution developed in accordance with paragraph 2 of Article 76 of the Code of Kazakhstan "On Customs Regulation in the Republic of Kazakhstan" is to facilitate and stimulate processes related to business immigration and investment attractiveness of the country.

The resolution also provides for the indexation of expenses of state revenue authorities, which allows setting the rates of customs duties in monthly calculation indices (MCI).

Furthermore, a key aspect of this resolution is the introduction of a zero rate of customs duty when declaring express cargo and goods transported in international mail. Taxpayers are also given the opportunity to submit written applications or lists of goods together with the relevant documents instead of a customs declaration, while maintaining a zero rate of customs duty.
