ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 28. As part of the preparation of joint projects for the construction and reconstruction of Sewage Treatment Plants (STT), a mission of experts from the Asian Development Bank arrived in Kazakhstan, Trend reports.
As the Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan noted, among them are also such experts with extensive international experience in the field of wastewater treatment as Patrick Laurin, Antonio Porchedu, and Eduard Chil-Akapyan.
During the bilateral meeting, the Chairman of the Board of JSC, “Kazakhstan Center for Modernization and Development of Housing and Communal Services,” Adilkhan Umerbayev noted the importance of the issues of effective implementation of STT projects as well as optimization of the parameters of new structures.
In addition, the meeting participants discussed the issues of attracting new energy-efficient technologies, ensuring local content, recycling wastewater, and processing sludge.
Kazcenter Housing and Communal Services proposed to organize training for local executive bodies and natural monopolies in the basics of procurement according to the rules of international financial organizations (IFOs).
At the end of the meeting, representatives of the ADB expert mission went to the cities of Balkhash, Satpayev, Zhezkazgan, and Stepnogorsk for a detailed study of the implementation of STT projects on the ground.
