ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 4. Kazakhstan plans to launch 322 projects worth over 444 billion tenge (about $930 million) in the agricultural sector by the end of 2023, said Vice Minister of Agriculture Baglan Bekbauov at a meeting of the Investment Headquarters, Trend reports.
As Bekbauov noted, with the implementation of these projects 5,300 jobs will be created.
"To date, 115 projects worth 130 billion tenge (about $272 million) have been commissioned, 1,700 new jobs have been created," he said.
It was also noted that the pool formed by the ministry for 2023-2026 involves the implementation of 877 investment projects worth 2.7 trillion tenge (about $5.66 billion) with the creation of about 36,000 jobs. At the same time, regional road maps were approved, which set specific deadlines for putting projects into operation.
In addition, the meeting discussed issues of implementing large projects with the participation of foreign investors.
At the end of the first half of 2023, the volume of gross agricultural output increased by 3.2 percent, to 2.1 trillion tenge (about $4.4 billion).
The growth was achieved mainly due to an increase in livestock production by 3.3 percent - meat production increased by 4.5 percent (1 million tons in live weight) and milk by 2.9 percent (3.2 million tons).
