ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 12. Presight (a data analytics firm owned by Abu Dhabi's G42) company is currently in active negotiations with Samruk-Kazyna Fund (Kazakh investment holding) to create a joint venture, said the chairman of the board of the company, Thomas Pramotedhama during a meeting with the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Trend reports.
The project involves the introduction of digital solutions to improve the efficiency of the Fund’s subsidiaries and production enterprises, the creation of a hub for computing power for the development of artificial intelligence and advanced training of specialists.
The meeting also discussed prospects for cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence.
Tokayev has invited AI Brain, a subsidiary of the G42 holding, to partner with the Institute of Artificial Intelligence at Nazarbayev University.
Kazakhstan has been devoting a significant amount of resources to development of the AI in recent years, both on the state level and the private sector.
In 2023 Beeline company has developed an artificial intelligence chatbot that works in Kazakh language. Kaz-RoBERTA-conversational or BeeBERT for short is a generative artificial intelligence technology that will support the user experience in Beeline digital applications and will enable the future development of artificial intelligence-based solutions in Kazakh language.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan plans to launch mandatory courses on studying artificial intelligence in the country’s universities in 2024 so that students receive basic knowledge in this field.
In addition, Kazakhstan plans to attract more than $1 billion in investments to create a national artificial intelligence cluster until 2026.
As President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said on October 12, 2023, data centers specializing in artificial intelligence will be built in Kazakhstan. For this, Kazakhstan is looking to attract such global players as Amazon, Google, Mastercard and Citigroup.
