ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 16. Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation of Kazakhstan Nurzhan Nurzhigitov discussed the possibility of launching a joint project in the Kazakh Kyzylorda region with representatives of the Australian company Rubicon Water, which deals with digitalization of irrigation systems, Trend reports.
Currently, design and estimate documentation is being developed. It is expected that this project will be ready within the next three months, and this week Rubicon Water experts will arrive in the Kyzylorda region to conduct additional hydrogeological and geotechnical surveys.
Company representatives noted that the project will help achieve 30 percent savings in irrigation water. And similar projects that were implemented in individual farms in Kazakhstan made it possible to almost double the yield.
Rubicon Water representatives expressed their readiness to attract experts from Australia and New Zealand to analyze and assess the condition of water supply canals in other regions of the country. The company is also considering the possibility of moving one of its plants to Kazakhstan.
In turn, Nurzhigitov noted that at the moment it is necessary to focus efforts on one region.
"To achieve a positive effect, it is necessary to fully implement the project, from supply to use of water in irrigated areas, in one region. Now priority is given to the south of the country, where the problem of improper water distribution is felt most acutely. I know that Rubicon Water has projects in the Turkestan region. This week, I will visit the region and get acquainted with еру зкщоусеы personally," he added.
The parties decided to meet again to discuss the cost of the project in the Kyzylorda region, as well as technical issues regarding the technical and economic comparison of the proposed products with analogues from other manufacturers.
