ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 3. The business activity index in Kazakhstan improved slightly to 49.6 in October, but the indicator still remains in the negative zone, Trend reports, citing the National Bank of Kazakhstan.
An improvement in business activity was noted in manufacturing, where the indicator moved into the positive zone, amounting to 51.6 (in September – 49.5).
The construction business activity index stayed steady from the previous month, at 48.5.
Indicators in the services and mining sectors remained negative, while the index in services increased slightly to 49.9 (from 49.1 in September).
The mining industry's ranking declined from 48.7 to 48.0 as a result of lengthier delivery times and lower employment levels.
Estimates of current business conditions remained basically constant, although optimism about future business prospects strengthened. As a consequence, the business climate index, which is an average assessment of current and future business conditions, was 11.2 (in September 2023 - 9.5). The business cycle clock indicator stayed in the positive territory, as estimates of both current and future business conditions remained optimistic.
