ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 6. The total fleet of freights wagons of Kazakhstan's Kaztemirtrans JSC increased by 50 new domestic open wagons, Trend reports.
The new wagons were manufactured by the Kazakhstan Carriage Manufacturing Company in Ekibastuz.
As the Kazakhstan Railways said, the freight cars meet all modern requirements and have the necessary technical characteristics.
The wagons' carrying capacity is 70 tons. Open wagons have a certificate of conformity to the Customs Union standard.
According to the Deputy General Director of Kaztemirtrans, JSC Tanirbergen Kusainov, open wagons will be used in the transportation of socially significant goods (construction materials, coal, grain, etc.).
Kaztemirtrans JSC is gradually renewing its fleet of freight cars. Over the past decade, more than 25,000 railcars have been purchased. By 2025, it is planned to purchase about 3,000 more freight cars.
More than 21.6 million tons of cargo were transported by Kaztemirtrans (KTT) wagons from July through August of this year. Cargo transported across Kazakhstan amounted to 20.1 million tons, and 1.5 million tons of goods were exported.
During the preparation for the heating season, more than 12 million tons of coal were transported by the Kaztemirtrans fleet for thermal power plants and communal and household needs.
Over 1 million tons of crushed stone were delivered to the western region of the country by Kaztemirtrans wagons for the construction and reconstruction of highways of national importance.
