ASTANA, Kazakhstan, December 2. Presight (a data analytics firm owned by Abu Dhabi's G42) intends to undertake pilot projects in the fields of digitalization and information technology in Kazakhstan's National Welfare Fund Samruk-Kazyna JSC portfolio enterprises, Trend reports.
This was discussed during a meeting between the company's CEO, Thomas Pramotedham, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Samruk-Kazyna JSC, Nurlan Zhakupov.
The first project will be implemented in collaboration with QazaqGaz to improve the transparency of gas metering in Astana, Shymkent, and on the Saryarka main gas pipeline. Based on the findings, the prospect of scaling solutions for Kazakhstan's key gas pipelines and gas distribution networks will be evaluated.
The second pilot project will be executed in collaboration with KTZ-Express. The purpose is to perform a thorough analysis and determine the requirements for implementing digital solutions to increase the efficiency of services in the transportation and logistics sectors.
Meanwhile, Kazakhstan has been committing significant resources to AI development in recent years, both at the official and private sector levels.
Kazakhstan's Ministry of Science and Higher Education intends to introduce mandatory courses on artificial intelligence in the country's universities in 2024 in order to provide students with a fundamental understanding of this topic.
Furthermore, Kazakhstan intends to attract more than $1 billion in investment to establish a national artificial intelligence center by 2026.
Kazakhstan will build data centers specializing in artificial intelligence, according to Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, on October 12, 2023. Kazakhstan is hoping to recruit global players such as Amazon, Google, Mastercard, and Citigroup.
