ASTANA, Kazakhstan, December 5. QazaqGaz JSC (Kazakhstan's national gas company) and Emirati Presight (a data analytics firm owned by Abu Dhabi's G42 tech group) will cooperate in the field of digital transformation of Kazakhstan's gas industry, Trend reports.

The corresponding agreement was signed between the parties on the sidelines of the COP 28 World Climate Summit in Dubai.

Cooperation between the parties will improve the transparency of gas accounting, ensuring more efficient management and reducing losses in the gas system.

As part of the signed agreement, it is planned to implement a pilot project to increase the transparency of gas usage. At the same time, the parties are considering the issue of joint development of a universal billing system for effective interaction between a subscriber and gas company.

Based on the results of the pilot project, the possibility of using the technology throughout Kazakhstan will be considered.

This will improve data quality, minimize the human factor and ensure more efficient data management, which, in turn, will lead to a significant reduction in losses during gas transportation.

As the head of Presight Thomas Pramotedham previously stated, Presight is currently in active negotiations with Samruk-Kazyna Fund to create a joint venture.

Kazakhstan has been committing significant resources to AI development in recent years, both on the official and private sector levels.

Kazakhstan's Ministry of Science and Higher Education intends to introduce mandatory courses on artificial intelligence in the country's universities in 2024 in order to provide students with a fundamental understanding of this topic.

Furthermore, Kazakhstan intends to attract more than $1 billion in investment to establish a national artificial intelligence center by 2026.

Kazakhstan will build data centers specializing in artificial intelligence, according to Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, on October 12, 2023. Kazakhstan is hoping to recruit such companies as Amazon, Google, Mastercard, and Citigroup.
