Kazakhstan names volume of oil production in Atyrau region

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, December 8. In the Atyrau region of Kazakhstan, 43.9 million tons of oil were produced from January through October 2023, said head of the region Serik Shapkenov, Trend reports.

At the same time, during the above period, 22.7 billion cubic meters of associated petroleum gas were produced.

As Shapkenov noted, 24 percent of the total industry of Kazakhstan falls on the Atyrau region. Such high achievements also had a positive impact on the volume of the domestic gross regional product (GRP).

Thus, compared to the same period last year, the volume of GRP of the region for the first half of this year increased by 315 billion tenge (about $387 million) and amounted to 6.7 trillion tenge (about $14.6 billion).

The share of the regional economy in the gross domestic product of the republic is 14.1 percent. And the gross regional product per capita is 9.6 million tenge (about $20,943).

In 2023, Kazakhstan aims to produce 90.5 million tons of oil, with an export plan of 71 million tons. Comparatively, the country's oil production stood at 85.9 million tons at the close of 2021 and 85.7 million tons in 2020.

The volume of oil production in 2022 in Kazakhstan amounted to 84.2 million tons, or 101.6 percent of the planned figure.

The Tengiz field produced 29.2 million tons of oil, or 100 percent of the 2022 plan. Oil production at the Karachaganak field amounted to 11.3 million tons - 103.8 percent of the plan. At Kashagan, oil production amounted to 12.7 million tons - 109.5 percent.

Oil exports in 2022 reached 64.3 million tons, or 103.4 percent of the plan.

The volume of oil production in Kazakhstan at the end of 2021 amounted to 85.9 million tons, in 2020 - 85.7 million tons.
