Kazakhstan reveals volume of state budget revenues since year-start

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, December 13. Kazakhstan's state budget receipts totaled 18.2 trillion tenge (about $39.8 billion) during January through November 2023, with 98.6 percent of the goal being met, said the Minister of Finance of Kazakhstan Yerulan Zhamaubayev during a government meeting, Trend reports.

Thus, republican budget revenues totaled 12.6 trillion tenge (approximately $27.5 billion), whereas local budget revenues totaled 5.7 trillion tenge (about $12.4 billion).

At the same time, 96.5 percent of state budget expenditures were met, 98.3 percent of republican budget expenses were met, and 95.6 percent of local budget expenditures were met.

Furthermore, nearly 2,000 audits were performed within the first 11 months of this year. The audit covered 1.4 trillion tenge (about $3.06 billion) in budget monies. Financial irregularities totaling over 231 billion tenge (about $505 million) were discovered as a result of inspections.

Furthermore, on November 4, Yerulan Zhamaubayev presented the draft law "On the republican budget for 2024–2026" at a plenary meeting of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Zhamaubayev noted that revenues for 2024 are projected at 20.4 trillion tenge (about $44.2 billion).

According to him, the budget deficit is estimated at 2.6 percent of GDP. Budget expenditures for next year are planned to increase by 1.5 trillion tenge (about $3.25 billion) in relation to 2023 and will amount to about 24 trillion tenge (about $52 billion).
