ASTANA, Kazakhstan, December 15. Kazakhstan's Atyrau Oil Refinery paid more than 142 billion tenge (about $309 million) in taxes from January through November 2023, Trend reports.
According to the KazMunayGas JSC (KMG, Kazakhstan's national oil and gas company), 22.2 billion (about $48.3 million) of these taxes were paid to the republican budget, more than 120 billion (about $261 million) to the city of Atyrau budget.
In 2022, the share of tax payments from the Atyrau Oil Refinery in the total expenses of the city of Atyrau amounted to 33 percent.
In addition, at the end of this year, the Atyrau Refinery plans to pay taxes totaling 154.7 billion (about $336.8 million), which is 1.5 times more than last year.
Meanwhile, the Atyrau Oil Refinery is one of Kazakhstan's three largest oil refineries. Kazakhstan's state oil and gas firm, KazMunayGas JSC (99 percent), owns the oil refinery.
The design processing capacity is 5.5 million tons per year, and the processing depth is up to 86.4 percent.
The Atyrau Oil Refinery produces over 20 (including markings) types of commercial petroleum products: hydrocarbon liquefied fuel gas, diesel fuel, jet fuel, vacuum gas oil, heating oil, fuel oil, marine fuel, petroleum cokes, technical sulfur, paraxylene, benzene, etc.
Today, the plant is the only manufacturer of petrochemical products in Kazakhstan.
