ASTANA, Kazakhstan, December 19. The Ulyanovsk region of Russia increased export of grain products to Kazakhstan in 2023, Trend reports.
According to the Rosselkhoznadzor (Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision), since the beginning of the year, 22,958 tons of grain were exported to Kazakhstan, which is almost three times more compared to the same period in 2022 (8,327 tons).
In addition, grain from Ulyanovsk region was sent to Azerbaijan - 13,168 tons, Kyrgyzstan - 9,784 tons, Latvia - 9,009 tons, Afghanistan - 2,561 tons, Uzbekistan - 105 tons, Armenia - 97.5 tons, Tajikistan - 67 tons.
Thus, Kazakhstan ranks first among importers of grain from the Ulyanovsk region of Russia.
In general, since the beginning of 2023, the Ulyanovsk region has exported 58,000 tons of grain.
Meanwhile, from January through August 2023, the volume of trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Russia amounted to $17 billion. Exports to Russia amounted to $6.389 billion, and imports from Russia amounted to $10.611 billion.
At the same time, the volume of trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Russia in 2022 amounted to $26.123 billion. Kazakhstan's exports to Russia during the reporting period amounted to $8.78 billion, while imports amounted to $17.34 billion.
